
Erzsébet Seleljo

Erzsébet Seleljo studied saxophone with Kyle Horch at the Royal College of Music in London and with Lars Mlekusch at the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität. Erzsébet has won several national and foreign competitions, and recieved scholarships such as Liszt Academy Network and KLASSZ. During her studies she participated in masterclasses led by Claude Delangle, Arno Bornkamp, Nobuya Sugawa and many other world reknowned saxophonists. She completed her doctoral studies at the Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, she wrote her theses about the use of saxophone by Hungarian composers. In 2021-22 she received the ÚNKP scholarship in order to forther research and record the Hungarian saxophone repertoire composed in the second half of the 20. century. As member of Duo SeRa she received the MMA scholarship for the years 2025-28. She currently teaches saxophone at the Bartók Béla Secondary High School of Music and at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest.
As a soloist Erzsébet performed saxophone concertos with the Concerto Budapest Orchestra, Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, Budapest Strings, Liszt Academy Symphony Orchestra, Győr Symphonic Band and Alpen Classica Orchestra. She is often involved in contemporary projects, she has worked with Slovakian Quasars Ensemble and with UMZE, the Hungarian contemporary ensemble. She has also taken part in international chamber music festivals such as Vibrate! Festival in Brasov (Romania), Opus Amadeus Festival in Istambul (Turkey), or Academic Chamber Music Festival in St Petersburg (Russia). She frequently plays with her pianist sister Irén, is a member of saxophone-harp duo called Duo SeRa and collaborates with other instrumentalists as well. Besides performing original repertoire, Erzsébet is commited to premiering new works and promoting Hungarian music. For her long-term devotion of performing Hungarian contemporary music in 2024 Erzsébet received the prestegious Artisjus-Prize. Erzsébet Seleljo is the Artist of Henri Selmer and JLV Paris.
